And then I went missing.

I have been away for  awhile. With my new focus in life being work and my spiritual path, things have been a little different around in this blog. Mostly because this blog is public to… everyone in my life and that makes me a little nervous about posting a few things.

So, quite honestly, I don’t know how often I’ll post over here. Maybe I’ll try and post on Tuesdays.

Stolen From.

current guilty pleasure: Hm, I’ll have to go with cinnamon buns. I haven’t had them in a while and I’ve had two batches this last week. That’s right, I ate a whole batch myself. I’m terrible.
current nail color: None, but I’ve been thinking about repainting them “Rich in Heart” from Sinful Colors. Maybe I need to go with green, I have a light green, too.
current playlist: I’ve been stuck on Blackmore’s Night for a while.
current read: I’m reading “The Lightness of Being”.
current drink: Lemonaid. And water.
current food: I just finished off some crackers, actually.
current favorite show: The new show I’ve been watching is Once Upon a Time.
current wish list: Do I have to pick? I want a new computer, which is really top of the list stuff.
current needs: I need some friends out here so I can hang out with them.
current triumphs: Getting through this last week at work. One of the first 5 day weeks of the new year and it was tough.
current bane of my existence: Family has calmed down, but unfortunately, having to listen to them complain about my engagement is still the top of the list.
current celebrity crush: I’ve had a thing for Liam Neeson for a while.
current indulgence: Lots of quiet.
current blessing: I have tomorrow off. MLK day.
current outfit: Jeans, a black long sleeved shirt and some soft, fluffy slippers.
current excitement: I don’t actually have one except for tomorrow being off and it only being a three day week. I guess my book coming on Tuesday?
current mood: I’m a bit sore as I slept in the wrong position for a nap, but I’m actually in a fairly good mood.
current link: I’ve been avoiding the net, so facebook has been my link of choice recently.

Now, to set up a more tantalizing way of updating this blog. I have had very few pictures taken in the past month and I haven’t really been doing too much. So we’ll start with this.

We unofficially have a cat. She’s not ours quite yet, as officially she’s still a stray. We’re working on it.

I feel as if I’m in a dangerous point in my life. Not “I’m going to die” dangerous, but dangerous nonetheless. I’m not quite under my parents as I was from zero to just 23 (being over 23 and not quite 24 yet, now), but I’m not quite settled in life (as I suspect I will be when I get into my 30s; kids and the like).

Which means I’m free to grow in every way possible. And that, with the thinking and the introspection, can be more dangerous than playing with a gun.

I went to a card club last Saturday, in which one of the woman said that I was “brave” for coming by myself. It was… interesting. I’ve never had anyone mention that I was by myself before, except to say that I need to get over myself and do stuff. Apparently, I’m not alone.

Somewhere before then, I decided to try to make my own bread. The first batch turned out alright, though the second batch turned out a little yeasty (either too much rising time or too much heat, not sure… maybe too much sugar).

I’ve also been doing some needlepoint. I’ve gone from this… to that.

There’s a lot that I could talk about, that I’m afraid to talk about, I think. My life is in flux. It makes me nervous.

Another month.

I went to Vegas on Monday. I didn’t take pictures. We stayed at the Golden Nugget and watched the Tournament of Kings. Worth it.

I finally finished this. Good grief it took forever. 9 months.

This is my new project. It’s the oldest project I have (probably had it since I was 12ish. It’s been hanging around for a decade.

Very nice.

I took this week off from work. It’s only a 3 day week anyway, but I felt like it was a good time to take some hours off before the holidays start up. I’m taking another week off at Christmas, which will be fantastic.

My car battery decided to die on me and we spent a good number of hours trying to figure it out. Unfortunately, AAA doesn’t have a battery service out here. Really, AAA? You suck.

We have expected thundershowers for another day. It rained for all of 10 seconds last night while we were waiting for AAA.

I think I might finish up the needlepoint tonight while I try out some Nutella Shots.

Crash, bang, sizzle.

We had a minor electrical storm here yesterday. We went to the next town over to see family (in which I ended up with a huuuge headache, but I digress) and the lightening started early afternoon and continued until we got home, then after we got home, then decided to pull a fast one on all of us.

At about 10:30 PM we hear this thunder that sounds like not only was it right above our house, it sounds like a small explosive went off too (much like a firework). Then we were “holy shit!” and shortly after, sirens. Of course, once I notice the red lights reflecting through the curtains we decide to go outside.

It hit one of the palm trees across the way. It was on fire. And, thankfully, someone had noticed/seen/had been watching when it hit and called the fire department right then and there.

… The storm was a pretty sight, though. I do love the sound of thunder.

We’re expected to have storms until Tuesday. Hopefully all the trees will survive, says The Man.

Our captured muncher has grown into a moth and been released back into the wild. We’ve caught a total of 4 moths (with the fifth being the already captured one).

I’m keeping our tomato plants separate. Though, they haven’t gotten any tomatoes, I did decide to pick up some tomato food in hopes that I could stimulate them a little. It’s likely to make them grow another foot. And then we’ll have tomato plants growing into our ceiling.

I did try taking them outside. 10 minutes later and they were wilted, even with water, it’s been that hot. With the weather cooling, maybe we can take them outside later.

Summer has been seriously short. I’m going to start bringing out the early-fall decorations and start putting away the spring ones. Always super excited about October getting close, I LOVE Halloween. I’m hoping to get some awesome Halloween decorations up early and decorate the whole house.

And this is the only reason I could get into that whole “Day of the Dead”, “Samhain” thing. I just love it!… Actually, I think it’s the only holiday in the entire year that I do like. I really need an attitude adjustment, perhaps a new view on them.

I can make all sorts of excuses but the base of the problem is I’ve had no motivation to do much. Unfortunately, this trait is a running theme throughout the house at the moment.

I think much of it, at least when it comes to blogging, is that it seems everyone else has a very exciting life. It might come down to the fact that I do not have kids. Many bloggers I watch have a minimum of 3 children and that adds a level of chaos that I don’t have.

The max amount of chaos we have is getting a car towed and having to track it down. Or going to Six Flags for almost 12 hours.

Have I ever mentioned I’m in love with Birchbox? Because I am. I’ve enjoyed the last couple months.

Getting back on track.

Ever have one of those weeks? I have. Crazy work, boring home life.

Of course, seeing this kitty staring in the window last night sorta lightened things up a little bit. Then again, so did the broken sprinkler in the neighbor’s yard.

After about four years, the star wars movie poster finally received a frame. It’s got a couple small tears, but it somehow managed to stay in fairly good shape throughout the three years of moving and hanging in the dorm rooms. I also picked up a sister poster, for the fourth episode.

Sorta gross, but after the winter months we finally had our exterminator come and spray the duplex for us. Unfortunately, the next day our patio was littered with a good 3 dozen of the so called ‘water bugs’. Now that the death rate has dropped, we’ve purchased some traps for the bastards. Totally uncool.
